BKT Botanical Keratin Treatment Original
A formalin free keratin smoothing system designed to repair damaged, keratin depleted hair and reduces drying and styling time in half.
Reduce texture up to 50%, frizz up to 100% and with the correct maintenance can last for up to 16 weeks.
Repeat as often as every four weeks if needed, however, 12 weeks is recommended.
This keratin has the ability to be used over all chemical treatments (including color, highlights, relaxers, etc.) to enhance their strength and can be used in conjunction with a hair color service. The process takes 1.5 to 3 hours and can be shampooed as soon as 72 hours after.

STEP 1
Open the Cuticle
Shampoo hair using Pure NV Clarifying Shampoo.
- Shampoo 5 times for virgin, gray, or resistant hair.
- Shampoo 4 times for color treated hair.
- Shampoo 3 times for highlighted hair.
Leave product on hair for 30 seconds between shampooing. If hair is resistant, leave Clarifying Shampoo on hair & place under heat for 5 minutes. Rinse 100%.
Step 2
BLOWDRY HAIR
Blow dry hair 100%, keeping the cuticle open. No brushes, no smoothing.
Step 3
Apply Your Treatment
Section the hair into desired sections. Be sure to wear gloves.
Shake bottle well & begin to apply. Using a tint brush, apply from scalp to ends.
If using BKT Plus, spray sparingly into the hair. Using a comb, distribute the product evenly throughout the hair. Less is more.
Step 4
Close The Cuticle
Let sit for 15 minutes on normal hair & up to 20 minutes on resistant hair, covering with a plastic cap. After the appropriate time has elapsed, using a large rake comb, blow-dry hair 100% to begin closing the cuticle. Do not brush the hair.
Step 5
Cure It in
Start by re-sectioning the hair. Then, beginning at the nape of the neck, using 1/8 inch sections, flat iron the hair from the base to the ends. Be sure your Cure Iron is set between 375 to 450 degrees (see guide below).
Be sure to cure Pure NV BKT into the hair by repeating the smoothing process multiple times per section.
- For virgin hair, apply the flat iron 5 times per section.
- For color treated or highlighted hair, apply the flat iron 3-5 times per section.

Be sure to inform the client not to wet their hair for 24-72 hours, to allow the hair to be transformed into the desired smooth results.
